IPL 2024 is the Record-breaking year for IPL Cricket
I know I am late but Man-o-man what in the IPL is going on this year? Bowlers getting smashed like nothing, sixes raining before actual rain, and scores are skyrocketing. This year below 200 scores are being considered as maybe a fighting total. So let’s jump into this one by one and see why IPL 2024 is the Record-breaking year for IPL Cricket.
Highest IPL total Ever – SRH (287/3) against RCB
Let’s start with the biggest highlight this year the smashing batting from SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) this year. The first gigantic leap was in the Match against Mumbai Indians (MI) where they smashed the previous record and scored (277/3).
But just a few days later, they smashed another and stretched their hands to (287/3) against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). I think we might get to see a team reaching the score of 300 runs this year. That would be crazy shit.
They are doing it, by hitting non-stop boundaries by the openers which sets the foundation for the entire team, especially Travis Head. This guy just smashed 3 centuries like nothing and scored the fastest half-century (50 in 15 balls). This year he is blasting away all the bowlers like nothing.
But in this glory let’s not miss the others, Abhishek Sharma is back in form along with Henrich Klaasan who is a powerful hitter, and more. This team’s batting lineup is just raining boundaries this year and it will continue to do so.
This overwhelming performance from batters eases up the pressure on bowlers and they are also performing at their pace.
Biggest Successful Run chase – PBKS against KKR
KKR set a huge score of 261/6 against Punjab Kings (PBKS) because of an explosive start from Phil Salt (75 in 37 balls) and Sunil Narine (71 in 32 balls) in the opening match of the IPL 2024.
But this was just the first Inning of that match, same thrill continued in the second inning as well where PBKS retaliated with Jonny Bairstow leading them to victory by scoring 108* and from the support given by Prabhsimran Singh’s (54 in 20 balls) and Shashank Singh’s fiery hitting at the end of (68* in 28 balls).
In total 42 sixes were showered that night with 523 runs were made and the highest successful run chase of all time in IPL history.

Biggest Run Chase ever by RCB
However, RCB gave birth to the highest ever total in 2013 of 263, which was broken against them by SRH. They almost chased down that huge score of 278 runs from the good start by the openers and Dinesh Kartik’s great performance, but lost.
RCB equalled the score with PBKS who successfully chased 262 this year which was a crazy feat into it.
Virat Kohli being the at Peak of IPL centuries
Even after years Virat Kohli is still stands at top of the Most IPL centuries with 8 centuries surpassing the mighty hitter Chris Gayle who has 6. But still he is not in clear because one more player is chasing him down with just one less and raised to rank two this year pushing Chris Gaye to Rank 3.
Yes he is Jos Buttler with 7 centuries. We will get to see if King Kohli scures his crown at the top or will get surpassed by Jos Buttler.

Most Sixes Hit in any IPL match KKR vs PBKS
We have already talked about this match just a few minutes agobased on your reading speed that is, but if same match is getting recalled again and again then you could understand what an impactful match it was.
In this match in total of 42 boundaries were hit over the ropes becoming the highest of all time in IPL which was previously held by SRH vs MI with 38 sixes which broke the previous record of most sixes of all time. It’s like an inception of records breaking like any glass. I won’t be surprised if we get 50 sixes in a match with both teams scoring more than 300 runs and in that both teams have 2 centurions in the same match.
Yuzi Chahal became the first to take 200 wickets in IPL
Yuzvendra chahal became the highest wicket taker in IPL history with 200 wickets in the match against MI. He went past West Indian Dwayne Bravo in IPL 2023 and reached the top of the all-time wicket taker’s chart in the competition. This feat is none other than awesome.
