The best thing about it is that each player Is not bound to any single role and every player takes part in their team’s offense and defense.
This game needs quick reflexes, stamina, good jumps, and blocking skills. A player needs all this because a fraction of a second can turn the tides of the entire game. A single goal can shift the team’s momentum toward them or opponents.

Roles in Basketball
1. Centre – The centre is the tallest player on each team (not always) who play near the basket. He continuously switches from offense and defense. On offense, the centre tries to score on close shots and rebounds. In the defense, the centre is responsible for keeping the opponent from shooting by blocking shots and passes in the vital area.
2. Power Forward – The power forward does many of the things a centre does because they play near the basket while rebounding and defending goals from taller players. They are often the most versatile player who is able to score at a close distance as well as being able to shoot from midrange.
It will be more effective if they’re able to land a three-point consistently. It builds up even more pressure and they can become a threat to their opponents.
3. Small Forward – The small forward plays against small and large players. They roam all over on the court. They must have enough height, the ability to play on the inside, and the agility to play on the outside.
Small Forwards are usually the second or third-best shooters on the team and they are able to do a little bit of everything on the court, from scoring from the insides to taking long three-pointer shoots.

4. Point Guard – The point guard runs the offense and usually is the team’s best dribbler and passer. The point guard defends the opponent’s point guard and tries to steal the ball.
Along with that, he needs to have a good field vision to create openings for the team and for the receivers as well as to drive the ball down the court and initiate offensive plays.
5. Shooting Guard – The shooting guard is usually the team’s best shooter. Besides being able to shoot well, the Shooting Guard needs to be good at dribbling fast, passing, and having field vision by seeing the court and positions of players.
He is also responsible for driving the ball down the court and setting up offensive plays. A good Shooting Guard will be a threat to his opponent as he is a player which can score from anywhere on the court.

Rules of Basketball
1. Basketball players cannot kick the ball or hit it with their fists.
2. No player can touch the basketball while it is traveling downward toward the basket or if it is on the rim.
3. The player’s hand must be on top of the ball while dribbling. If they touch the bottom of the basketball while dribbling and continue to dribble this is called carrying the ball and the player will lose the ball to the other team.
4. Once the offensive team crosses half-court, they may not go back into the backcourt. This is called a backcourt violation. If the defensive team knocks the ball into the backcourt, then the offensive team can recover the ball legally.
5. The main rule for the defensive player is not to foul. A foul is described as gaining an unfair advantage through physical contact.
In general, the defensive player may not touch the offensive player in a way that causes the offensive player to lose the ball or miss a shot.
