It is a sport where they use an inflatable raft to race against other teams. It is on its way to becoming one of the famous adventure sports. This is done on white water and it uses double blade paddles for it. It can be a competitive sport or you can just do rafting for your relaxation. And don’t get confused between rafting, canoeing, kayaking, or else because each of them uses different boats for their respective sport.

It is also called “Kitesurfing” and for this, you don’t need the waves to ride instead you need a good wind, and your board then you should be all ready to go. This is a new competitive sport even though it was done in the 1970s. It is a combination of surfing, windsurfing, paragliding, etc. It gives the thrill of all these together in this single sport.

This was invented in 1922 by Ralph Samuelson when he used a pair of skis and a rope attached to a boat and then it gives you the speed to ski on water.

The boat tows you at a speed of at least 24 km/hr. In this, you can perform different stunts like jumps through ramps, sharp turns, 180-degree, 360 degrees turns, etc.

Skimboarding

It uses a skim board that is smaller than a surfboard and without fins. It is the only water sport that doesn’t rely on waves or wind conditions. They only need a plank, a shallowed water area, and a few wake-style obstacles.

You can perform multiple stunts like 180, 360 degree turns. Spinning board in mid-air, etc. You can just start with the beach and by gaining momentum using the waves you can move forward to it.

You can even do it at the beach just need shallow water and a good speed boost and we are good to go.

It is not yet governed by anyone so it is an orphan sport but in the future, this can become a great sport.

Underwater Hockey

As its name suggests you will get to play hockey underwater. Here teams compete to score goals and the team with the most goals wins. They play in a swimming pool and have a hockey puck which they need to put into the opponent’s goal using the hockey stick.

Both teams need to strategize because there are no goalkeepers and it is a no-contact sport so pulling and grabbing are not allowed.

One more thing it doesn’t have any age limit so older men can play against teenagers. It is like bringing generations together.

You will see more sports like this below so keep reading.

Water basketball

It is a mixture of basketball and water polo as it is played in a swimming pool. It is a recreational and competitive sport. Each team tries to score points for them by putting the ball inside the basket which can be similar to a basketball or it can be a floating basket.

It is mostly played 5 vs 5 but it can change according to different countries. It is still not very popular and is mostly played in a local lev tournament.

Underwater Rugby

Yeah, you might have never thought that rugby can be played underwater because you need to force open through the opponent’s wall to reach the touch down are.

But it exists. It is played in a pool of 12-22m in length, 8-12m in width, and 3.5-5m in depth. The game consists of 15 minutes halves.

6 players from each team dive in the pool with 6 waiting to get substitutes immediately with diving masks, snorkels, and fins.

It is a contact sport so you need to move from your side to the opponent’s side with the ball and score a goal to get points.

Underwater Football

It is a team sport played in a swimming pool between 13 players on each side. The players use snorkels, masks, and fins.

The ball used in this does not float on the surface. The main goal is to strike the ball into the opponent’s net. Players who are submerged can only touch the ball.

It might shock you but there are tournaments played in foreign countries.

Kayak Polo

Another different game where the Polo is played on horseback is played on water using “Kayak” boats that’s why it is called Kayak Polo.

It is a fast-paced contact game where players need to think quickly and make quick decisions, with strength and agility.

Here players are on a boat with a paddle in their hand and play the game 5 on 5 on the water.

The main aim is to score goals with the ball which is similar in size to a football using either their hands or the paddles.

The goal is above water 2 meters above and the goalkeeper needs to save it by blocking by raising their paddle high in the air.

It is quite an interesting sport.

Sport Diving

It is an underwater sport that uses open-circuit scuba diving equipment and it can be played individually or as a team.

There are different formats for this like 300m dives, obstacle courses, night diving, briefing, etc.

So, I guess that’s all for today. If you enjoy reading it then comment down below and leave your suggestions and any other topics that I should write about in the comments.

Don’t just read alone share it with others in this way everybody will enjoy it. I will be back soon with another game or related info. Till then…
