1. Paris Olympics 2024 – Solo
This year’s Olympics ranked as India’s third-best performance at the Summer Games, after Tokyo 2020 and London 2012.
This year we won 6 medals (1 Silver, 5 Bronze) which is one less than the record of Tokyo’s Olympics, Neeraj Chopra secured a silver medal, Vinesh Phogat reached the finals after defeating three opponents, and Manu Bhaker won two medals in the shooting.
Neeraj Chopra won the silver medal in men’s javelin throw with an effort of 89.45m, now the only Indian athlete to win two individual medals in athletics at the Summer Games.
Manu Bhaker won bronze medals in both the 10m air pistol and the 10m air pistol mixed team (Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh), becoming the first Indian woman to achieve an Olympic medal in shooting.
Because of these and other such feats, India set a new record by winning three shooting medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics, with Manu Bhaker, Sarabjot Singh, and Swapnil Kusale contributing to this historic achievement.
This marked the first time India secured three medals in a single sport at any Olympic Games. Also, India earned its first-ever Olympic medal in the 50m rifle three-position event.
Indian wrestler Aman Sehrawat became the youngest Indian to win an Olympic medal by securing bronze in the Men’s Freestyle 57 kg category at the Paris Olympics 2024 at the age of 21.
Manika Batra became the first Indian table tennis player to reach the pre-quarterfinals in the Olympics.

2. Paris Olympics 2024 – Team
Hockey
The Indian men’s hockey team came from a goal down to beat Spain 2-1 and win the bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics, similar to Tokyo 2020. This bagged back-to-back Olympic medals in hockey for the first time in 52 years, since Munich 1972.
The victory at the Yves-du-Manoir Stadium also saw India secure a record-extending 13th medal in hockey at the Olympics.
With 10 goals, Harmanpreet Singh was India’s top-scorer at Paris 2024 while PR Sreejesh made crucial saves throughout the competition before calling it time on his international career with a bronze medal.
It was not just the Bronze, but India beat Australia for the first time in Group Stages since Munich 1972, it was a long wait but finally happened.
