History of Olympic Games
The Olympic games were originated in ancient Greece 3000 years ago.
Then got revived in the late 19th century and became the world’s greatest sports event.
The origin of these games was held in the Olympia region of ancient Greece.
It is also believed that the games started as a sports festival to worship the gods.
Birth of Modern Olympics
After that, the Olympic games were revived thanks to the efforts of Baron Pierre de Coubertin.
He was dedicated to promoting physical education at he was inspired by the idea of creating modern Olympic games.
In Nov 1892 at the meeting of Union des sports Athlétiques in Paris and he proposed the idea of reviving the Olympics as an international athletics competition.
Two years later, he got the approval and created the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
